Description: Ardashir’s rock relief, shows his Investiture by the god Ohrmazd, or Ahura Mazda, at Naqsh-i Rustam. Carved directly beneath the Old Persian rock-cut tombs of the Achaemenid kings, near Persepolis, this remarkably dynamic composition is an affirmation of the dynasty's bond with the national religion.
