Description: A walled central inner city probably housed official building at the center of which stood Ardashir’s fire temple, represented by stone building known as Takht-e Neshin. A nearby stone masonry tower (9 m sq., 30 m high), known as the Terbal, was part of an official building that also may have symbolized the divine and centralist kingship instituted by Ardashir. Ardashir’s palace is a monumental structure of rough stone and gypsum mortar, built without fortifications, after his accession.
