ECAI / VSMM 2010 Meetings
Seoul, Korea, October 20-23, 2010

CALL FOR PAPERS

We are pleased to announce that ECAI will be meeting in association with the VSMM 2010 Conference hosted by KAIST in Seoul, Korea.  See: VSMM 2010

Our plenary speaker will be Coleman Fung, Chairman and Founder of OpenLink Financial, Inc., a long time supporter of ECAI who has established several centers at UC Berkeley, including the Coleman Fung Media Center at the East Asian Library.

ECAI will be hosting a day of panels and workshops on the topic of Visualization, Virtual Reality, and Multi-media in Digital Humanities.   The focus will be on the varieties and roles of visualization in humanities. Visualization is often used as a method of delivery or distribution of research results. However, there are also interactive visualization tools, which don’t lend themselves readily to traditional publication methodologies.  How can we take better advantage of visualization and virtual reality as tools for research and analysis support? Please join us to explore these and related issues.

ECAI presentations will be on October 20th. Please submit paper titles and abstracts directly to ECAI for inclusion in the ECAI / VSMM conference. (VSMM is no longer accepting submissions.)

Paper, panel or workshop proposals are due by August 1st.  Abstracts should be 250-300 words.  Please send your abstracts to ECAI@berkeley.edu. Further information about the program and venue will be posted on the ECAI web site when available.  If you have any questions, please contact Hui Nie at: ECAI@berkeley.edu.
