Abstract
The full version of the Annotated Database of Early Mediaeval North Indian Copper-Plate Grants consists of 4 tables: 2 main (List and Bibliography) and 2 subsidiary (Persons and Taxes) ones.
At the moment the table List consists of about 1020 data records recorded into 21 fields, and the table Bibliography consists of more than 3150 data records recorded into 8 fields.
When placing in the Web there is an idea to place one “sample” and one-two “working” versions of all 4 tables and to have a lot of “variant” versions of the same tables for purpose of discussion.
Any field of both main and subsidiary tables could be discussable.
The gradual access to the Web version of DB would be provided: looking through would be provided for every user; making comments – for registered users, while making amendments and inserting them into “working” versions – for moderators only.
To my mind this is one of the ways to create the concerned community of scholars and students who are interested in the narrow problem.
