The International Dunhuang Project (IDP) at the British Library has been an ECAI member for over a decade, digitising and mapping archaeological sites and artefacts from Chinese Central Asia - the Eastern Silk Road. In this talk IDP's director, Susan Whitfield, will introduce work being done under a recent grant to look at archaeological sites and artefacts not as static, but with complex biographies which show them at different stages of development over time and space, and how IDP is representing this on its website.
